Chi Omega Sorority
Chi Omega is an intergenerational women’s organization forever committed to our founding purposes: Friendship, Personal Integrity, Service to Others, Academic Excellence and Intellectual Pursuits, Community and Campus Involvement, and Personal and Career Development. Chi Omega provides a steady, consistent guide for Sisters to create a path of purpose and success. Throughout her life, Chi Omega will inspire her to pursue her purpose, in whatever way she defines it. Chi Omega Nu Zeta has been at Emporia State University since 1961.
Chi Omega was founded in 1895 at the University of Arkansas and is the largest women’s fraternal organization in the world with over 400,000 initiates, 181 collegiate chapters, and 247 alumnae chapters. The Nu Zeta chapter of Chi Omega has existed at Emporia State University since 1961. Throughout Chi Omega’s long and proud history, membership in Chi Omega provides lifelong friendships, campus and community involvement, and countless opportunities for personal growth and development in college and beyond!
Since 1895, Chi Omega Fraternity members have given their time and talent to serve others. In 2002, Chi Omega headquarters announced the Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish alliance. Since the start of this alliance, Chi Omega has raised more than 26 million dollars and has volunteered over 1.2 million hours for Make-A-Wish. Because of this commitment, they recognize Chi Omega as one of their Cause Champion sponsors. Our Fraternity’s goal is to have both collegiate and alumnae chapters become increasingly involved in volunteering and fundraising for Make-A-Wish to assist in the granting of wishes to these courageous kids. Through this, all Chi Omegas can understand the importance of service to others as a founding principle of our Sisterhood.
